Kraaken Platform: Reimagining Offshore AI Computing, Clean Power, and Desalination

Optimal Transit has introduced a multi-purpose maritime infrastructure design known as the Kraaken floating platform. Configured as the Blue Economy VITAL 100 MW vessel, this self-powered offshore concept integrates high-performance AI computational capacity with critical utility generation to serve coastal communities.

Innovative Resource Synergy: The platform harnesses natural ocean thermal energy conversion and recycles thermal emissions from heavy AI compute systems to supply continuous baseload electricity and fresh water without conventional grid reliance.

Under the VITAL 100 MW operational plan, 60 MW of electrical generation is allocated to drive AI-grade server racks, while the remaining 40 MW of clean continuous electricity is transmitted to shore. This output is estimated to power roughly 32,000 residential homes. Concurrently, the vessel's vacuum-flash desalination system uses deep cold seawater for both server cooling and freshwater production, generating nearly 30 million liters (7.9 million gallons) of drinkable water daily for an estimated 150,000 residents. In severe weather scenarios, the vessel can decouple its power-transfer connections and relocate independently under its own propulsion.
