Optimal Transit has introduced a multi-purpose maritime infrastructure design known as the Kraaken floating platform.
Innovative Resource Synergy: The platform harnesses natural ocean thermal energy conversion and recycles thermal emissions from heavy AI compute systems to supply continuous baseload electricity and fresh water without conventional grid reliance.
Under the VITAL 100 MW operational plan, 60 MW of electrical generation is allocated to drive AI-grade server racks, while the remaining 40 MW of clean continuous electricity is transmitted to shore.
| Operating Metric | Kraaken Platform Specifications |
| Primary System Capacity | 100 MW total offshore self-generation platform |
| Dedicated AI Compute Power | 60 MW reserved for continuous data center workloads |
| Grid Power Export Capacity | 40 MW exported to shore (supports ~32,000 homes) |
| Desalinated Water Output | 30 Million Liters / day (supports ~150,000 people) |
| Mobility & Safety Feature | Quick-disconnect umbilical for rapid storm evacuation |
While the conceptual engineering highlights promising multi-utility capabilities, the technology remains in the development phase and awaits full-scale real-world validation.
